1. Omega 3 Fatty Acids
EPA and DHA contained in high quality fish oils are essential for normal brain function and development. They help reduce inflammation and help improve your mental health.

2. L-Theanine
This incredible amino acid is effective at reducing stress and anxiety in acute situations. Rough day at work? This will help bring back a sense of calm, relaxation and reduced tension.

3. Vitamin D
People who experience symptoms of anxiety and depression are often deficient in vitamin D. Supplementing with this nutrient helps with symptoms of anxiety and seasonal depressive disorder (SAD).

4. Magnesium
Responsible for over 300 reactions in the body, magnesium promotes relaxation and decreases restlessness. It’s excellent for the reduction of anxiety, fear, and nervousness.

5. GABA
This inhibitory neurotransmitter blocks certain brain signals and reduces stressful activity in the brain, producing a relaxing effect. It is incredibly helpful for feelings of intense anxiety and long standing overwhelm.

6. B Vitamins
B Vitamins such as niacin, thiamin, B12, riboflavin, and others are beneficial for those experiencing chronic stress or anxiety. They help with chronic fatigue as well, helping boost daily energy. Most B vitamins are derived from animal food sources, therefore vegetarians and vegans should consider supplementation.

As with all vitamins and supplements, quality and dosage are important. We can easily overdose or underdose these vitamins, which at best can waste your time and money and at worst make you more sick and cause organ damage. It is important to consult a licensed healthcare provider before supplementing with any vitamins and herbs. Our accredited and board licensed naturopathic doctors are specifically trained in the correct therapeutic doses of these vitamins, drug contraindications (what drugs these may negatively interact with) and they can order lab testing to see your current levels to ensure an effective treatment plan. Each prescription will be individualized based on your health history and symptoms.
